I told you that you'd regret leaving them just because they were Canadian.rpweberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16995615750201726117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6148797616690196169.post-52013738589087635302009-12-24T10:03:19.727-08:002009-12-24T10:03:19.727-08:00Haha, no offense taken here Michelle! Sharing a room with Thom and Paul in that French castle and trying to keep up with "German MTV"...good times. Paul thanks for the comments as well. There were always at least a few bands that bridged the gap in our musical tastes and I always look forward to checking out your lists. I do miss KROQ... However, I share your enjoyment of the Lupe Fiasco record and continue to think that "Such Great Heights" may be the best single (or, at least, single that received substantial airplay) of the decade (it's in the discussion at least). There are certainly some competitors, which might include your other boys Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle." That's a good list idea, actually: best songs played by KROQ this decade.

It's weird how your perception of a band and its music can be shaped by your affinity (or lack thereof) for the band as people. To that point, I was not a Silversun Pickups fan but after hearing an interview with them on Kevin and Bean where they were consistently hilarious, I started sort of digging them. Critical objectivity be damned, I say.

Keep holding it down in Grover Beach.Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14468100826003845143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6148797616690196169.post-43977158407554538092009-12-24T07:22:44.015-08:002009-12-24T07:22:44.015-08:00Nate, Tom just pointed out that my comment on your...Nate, Tom just pointed out that my comment on your list sounded bitchy. Also, there was a time in my life when Robbie Williams songs made me cry tears of joy, but now I'm over it. Lifehouse was the worship band at the Malibu Vineyard when I started going there in August, 1999. But then they became a "real band," and moved on. I never liked them anyway.michelle mcmahonnoreply@blogger.com
